Play therapy is:
- the way that children makes sense of the world
- play as a child's most natural form of expression
- helping children to help themselves
- a safe and confidential space to express and understand difficult emotions
- helping to understand relationships and the world around them
- empowering children through choice, which provides control and autonomy
Sessions last approximately 45mins, once a week, and all the support given to families is personalised to meet the needs of each individual child so that they can get the most out of our time together.
Play therapy can help any child with the following difficulties or experiences:
Abuse, Anger, Anxiety, Attachment insecurities, ADD, ASD, Behaviour challenges, Bereavement or loss, Concentration, Confidence, Domestic violence, Family tension or separation, Low self-esteem, Neglect, Peer relationships, Resilience, Trauma.
