About Us - Jacaranda Therapy
Jacaranda Therapy was founded by Liz Vilela out of a deep-seated passion for helping others navigate life's challenges. The Jacaranda tree is a symbol of hope and growth when going through challenging times.
Liz Vilela is an accredited Play Therapist with PTUK and is currently studying Play and Creative Arts Counselling with APAC. She is on the register for Play and Creative Arts Therapists, which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Liz has experience of working abroad in Mozambique where she practiced play therapy and so she has an understanding of what it is like to live in a different culture and context. She is now working in Nottingham with a drug and alcohol service, supporting family members that are impacted by another person's substance use.
Liz has a particular interest in childhood trauma and supporting children with issues like anxiety, which holds them back from fulfilling their potential.
Liz envisioned a space where individuals and families could find the support they need to strengthen their emotional well-being. With a unique focus on comprehensive support, we set ourselves apart from other play therapy and creative arts counselling services by offering personalised, empathic care to each client. We pride ourselves on being partners in your journey towards healing and growth. Trust us to guide you with expertise and genuine care.
